Frequently Asked Questions

What is SOLIDRIDE?

SOLIDRIDE is a digital platform that sells self-guided motorcycle tour routes (GPX file format) and unique vacation/short-term property rentals that are conveniently located near or along our routes.

Do I need a motorcycle license and license plate?

Yes, all of our routes require fully-insured, licensed, and plated riders and vehicles.

Do you provide guide services?

No, not at this time. We are investigating how to incorporate tour guide services in the future.

How difficult are your routes?

Many of our routes are fully paved, but due to the nature of high-alpine riding, we recommend that only intermediate to advanced motorcyclists ride our routes. This is due to steep accents and descents, tight switchbacks, rapidly changing weather conditions, and sheer drop offs. High-alpine riding is dangerous and extreme caution should be taken.

Can I ride my street or touring motorcycle?

Yes, many of our routes are fully-paved. Our website specifically caters to Adventure and Dual Sport motorcyclists, but street and touring riders can use our paved routes.

How do you define surface type and difficulty?

Paved Route

These routes are on public paved road ways and are suited for Intermediate riders.

Dirt Route

These routes are on public unpaved roads which may include dirt, gravel, uneven surfaces, ruts, mud, and small rocks. These routes are suited for Intermediate – Advanced riders who have proper traction tires and experience riding on unpaved surfaces.

Off-Road Route

These routes are on rugged jeep trails that require advanced off-road riding experience. These routes may include major obstacles, large rocks, water crossings, steep acsents/descents, and extreme conditions. Only Advanced riders with proper equipment should ride these routes.

Intermediate Experience

Someone who has been riding for more than 4 years and has experience riding on unpaved and dirt surfaces.

Advanced Experience

Someone who has been riding for more than 6 years and has experience riding off-road.
